- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the bacon strips on a baking sheet and cook for about 15-20 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway through
- While the bacon is cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sliced onions with a pinch of salt, stirring frequently for about 10 minutes until caramelized.
- Once onions are soft, add bourbon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the liquid has reduced and the onions are sticky and glossy.
- Remove the bacon from the oven and wrap each hot dog with a strip of bacon, securing it with toothpicks if necessary.
- Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy
