3rd Place: Wendy’s Chili No Beans

To my surprise, you can find a version of chili from Wendy’s in the grocery store. Compared to the other brands, this is certainly the soupiest. While I know I said earlier that I like my chili thick, there is just something about Wendy’s that tastes so good. Yes, it’s mellow and not spicy at all, but I find it very savory with just a hint of smokiness.

2nd Place: Campbell’s Chunky Chili With Beans

Like Wendy’s, I wasn’t expecting to like Campbell’s so much, considering it was rather runny and almost soupy. But, like the previous entry, I really like the flavor of this chunky chili, plus the bigger vegetable pieces give it a great, hearty texture. Interestingly, this is one of the few brands that doesn’t have meat as one of the first ingredients. Instead, it starts with water, then tomato purée, and kidney beans. Next comes “seasoned beef and pork” made with salt and spice extractive. I don’t know what that is, but it tastes delicious. This chili gets my second spot on the list simply because it is so complete: good beef flavor, decent spice level, nice chunks of vegetables and beef, and very creamy beans.

1st Place: Jack Link’s Original Chili No Beans

Jack Link’s may be famous for making beef jerky and meat snacks, but apparently it also makes chili. I had no expectations going into this taste test, but I am pleasantly surprised. It has my favorite beef flavor and spice level (I don’t mean that it’s spicy, just flavorful.) of all the brands, and there’s little bits of green pepper throughout. It has ancho chili powder, along with brown sugar, which perhaps gives this brand the most unique flavor profile.

I hope this guide helps you find the best canned Chilis for your family
