Outback Steakhouse Chicken
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup honey mustard dressing (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms (optional)
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions:
Prep the Chicken:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and thyme on both sides.
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes to allow the seasonings to stick.
Sauté the Mushrooms (Optional):
While the chicken is cooking, heat a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Assemble the Chicken:
Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a baking dish (if you’re not using a grill) or continue on the grill.
Drizzle a generous amount of honey mustard dressing over each piece of chicken.
Add the sautéed mushrooms (if using), then layer on the chopped bacon and both cheeses (Monterey Jack and cheddar).
Melt the Cheese:
If you’re baking, place the baking dish in the oven for about 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Once the cheese has melted, remove the chicken from the heat and serve immediately with your favorite sides, like baked potatoes, steamed veggies, or a side salad.
