Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your air fryer to 270°F (132°C) for 3-5 minutes. While it’s heating, take your eggs directly from the refrigerator. There is no need to bring them to room temperature. Do not pierce or oil the eggs.

Pro-Tip: While preheating isn’t always mandatory, it helps ensure even cooking from the start, especially important for a precise result like hard-boiled eggs.

Step 2: Air Fry the Eggs
Once the air fryer is preheated, carefully place the cold eggs in the basket in a single layer. Ensure they are not touching or stacked on top of each other to allow for proper air circulation.

Air fry the eggs at 270°F (132°C) for:

14 minutes: For eggs with firm whites and a yolk that is fully set but still vibrant yellow and creamy.

16 minutes: For a more classic, firmly set hard-boiled yolk with a paler yellow center.

17 minutes: If you are cooking a very large batch or for eggs straight from the fridge that are extra cold.

Pro-Tip: Cooking times can vary slightly between air fryer models. We recommend starting with 15 minutes as a baseline and adjusting for your specific appliance on your next batch.

Step 3: Prepare an Ice Bath
While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath. Fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice. This step is crucial for stopping the cooking process and making the eggs easy to peel.

Step 4: Shock the Eggs
As soon as the cooking time is up, immediately use tongs or a spoon to transfer the hot eggs from the air fryer basket directly into the prepared ice bath. Let them sit for at least 5-10 minutes, or until they are completely cool to the touch.

Pro-Tip: Don’t skip the ice bath! The rapid cooling causes the egg inside to contract, pulling away from the shell and creating a gap that makes peeling a breeze.

Step 5: Peel and Enjoy
Once the eggs are completely cooled, gently tap them on a hard surface to crack the shell all over. Start peeling from the wider end, where the air pocket is, as the shell will often come off in large pieces under running cool water or while submerged in the ice bath.

Your perfectly cooked Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs are now ready to be sliced for salads, made into deviled eggs, or simply seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper for a healthy snack.
