Sourdough Starter from Scratch

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup water
1 tbsp sugar or honey
Instructions:
Mix the starter: In a clean glass jar or bowl, combine 1 cup flour and ½ cup water. Add sugar or honey and stir well until smooth.

Cover and rest: Loosely cover the jar with a lid or cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
Feed daily: Each day, add ½ cup flour and ¼ cup water, stirring well.
Watch for bubbles: After 5-7 days, your starter should be bubbly, slightly sour-smelling, and active.
Store or use:
Ready to bake? Use it in your favorite sourdough recipes!
Need to store it? Keep it in the fridge and feed it once a week.
A little patience and daily care will give you a strong, active starter for delicious homemade sourdough
