Nun’s Puffs

Delicately crisp on the outside, soft and custardy inside. These heavenly puffs are easy to make and even easier to love.

📝 Ingredients:

• 1 stick unsalted butter (½ cup) 🧈
• 1 cup whole milk 🥛
• ¾ cup all-purpose flour 🍞
• 3 large eggs 🥚
• 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
• Pinch of salt 🧂
• Honey or powdered sugar for serving 🍯

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin pan thoroughly.
  • 2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with the milk. Bring just to a boil.
  • 3. Remove from heat, stir in the flour, sugar (if using), and salt. Mix until smooth.
  • 4. Let the mixture cool for 5–10 minutes.
  • 5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is glossy and thick.
  • 6. Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about ⅔ full.
  • 7. Bake for 30 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven door while baking.
  • 8. Serve warm, drizzled with honey or dusted with powdered sugar
